Ariana Grande tells victims: 'I can't do enough for you' as she visits them in hospital

Ariana Grande was left “traumatised” and “broken” when a suicide bomber targeted her young fans, detonating a homemade nail bomb at Manchester Arena on May 22 shortly after the 23-year-old singer had finished her sold-out gig.

Countless victims suffered serious injury with 22 people tragically losing their lives.

The distraught star quickly jetted back to her home in Florida in order to be with her family after the attack, quickly going on to organise One Love Manchester, a benefit concert due to take place tonight that will help those affected by the attack.

Touching down in London on Friday morning, Ariana drove straight to Manchester where she visited hospitalised victims at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Spending time chatting to each and every child, as well as bringing them sunflowers and gifts, Ariana has been praised by the victims’ parents for how she treated her young fans, with the star even asking the children’s mums what she could do to help them.

One victim that was visited by her idol was 14-year-old Evie Mills, who suffered serious damage to her legs and chest in the blast as well as a fractured school.

Evie’s mum Karen told PA: “She came in and she was just lovely, adorable and humble and all over the girls.

“There was only Jaden and Evie left in the room and she said: ‘Tell me what to do, I can’t do enough for them, I needed to get back.’

“She was just lovely, really lovely.

“We’ve had such down days in the hospital, and I think these girls have got a lot to go through still once the wounds have healed.

“So just seeing them smile and having 20 minutes, half an hour of pure happiness is unbelievable.”

Ariana reportedly told eight-year-old victim Lily Harrison: “I’m so proud of you. You are so strong, you are doing really well.”

Lily’s dad, Adam, shared: “Ariana lit the room up as soon as she walked in. She was absolutely fantastic.

“She had a big smile and was so enthusiastic. She knelt by Lily’s bed and asked her lots of questions. She had so much time for her.

“Lily was bouncing off the walls. She was so excited. She is her biggest fan.

“It was such a positive thing for Ariana to do, after everything that happened last Monday. It was invaluable. She was so sincere. She brought a big Harrods teddy and some flowers for all the kids.

“It was brilliant for Lily’s mum Lauren and I to see our girl happy.”

Ariana has re-released her hit single ‘One Last Time’ ahead of her performance at One Love Manchester tonight, with all proceeds from the song going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

As well as Ariana, stars such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Take That will be performing at the gig, which will be aired live on BBC One from 6.55pm.
