Celebrity Big Brother: The 22 things viewers have complained to Ofcom about this series

This series of Celebrity Big Brother has only been on air for one week but it has already been inundated with complaints from outraged viewers.

In fact, Ofcom have received 22 complaints about the reality show in just seven days, with one of the complaints being about food waste.

The most controversial moment so far appears to be last week’s race row, which saw Paul Danan get accused of racism after he called housemate Karthik Nagesan ‘Qatar’, with nine people complaining to the regulating body about his behaviour towards the former Apprentice star.

Paul did not receive an official warning for the altercation, but viewers did see the ex-Hollyoaks actor get called into the Diary Room and told to be more cautious with his language in future.

Other things that viewers have complained about in the past week include one concerned fan who feel that Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding’s presence promotes alcoholism and substance abuse, one complaint for sexism and one for bullying.

Another complained about homophobia, three have complained about Brandi Glanville’s attire, two about housemates joking about mental health issues, and one about a task that the complainant felt amounted to sexual assault.

Others include one complaint about sexist language used in a task and one about food wastage.

An Ofcom spokesperson said: “We will assess these complaints before deciding whether or not to investigate.”

We have a feeling that there are plenty more complaints to come over the next few weeks…
