WATCH: Good Morning Britain viewers outraged as it's claimed that babies are racist

Good Morning Britain viewers were left bemused and outraged in equal measures this morning, with a doctor controversially claiming that babies as young as six months old are racist.

Hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were also left stunned by the revelation, arguing that Dr. Kang Lee, the lead author of a new study from the University of Toronto, was talking nonsense.

Dr. Lee claimed that he had babies watch happy and sad music videos that featured other babies of different races, concluding that the tots spent longer watching the babies that were the same race as them thus proving racial bias.

Piers and Susanna were equally baffled.

He also added that babies born into single-race families are more likely to display this kind of behaviour.

However, mum-of-three Susanna pointed out: “Is it not that babies in mono-racial families are not familiar with other races, not that they are racially bias towards them?”

And it wasn’t just Susanna who had questions, with viewers taking to Twitter to blast Dr. Lee’s damaging claims:

Good Morning Britain also brought in two mums, each of a different race, and their babies to put the claims to the test, with the tots quickly leaning over to eachother and holding hands.

Piers dubbed this moment ‘the hands of peace’.

Piers commented: “This is living proof that he [Dr.Lee] may be barking up the wrong tree.”
