Cheryl's former bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts have already met her baby son

Cheryl may have given birth less than one week ago but her former Girls Aloud bandmates, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, have apparently already met her baby son.

The two women were overjoyed to hear that their best friend had welcomed her first child and rushed round to her Hertfordshire home alongside Cheryl and Liam Payne’s family members.

According to The Mirror, on Friday little baby Payne had a host of visitors as Liam and Cheryl proudly brought their son home from hospital – inviting both sets of relatives as well as Kim and Nicola to meet their bundle of joy.

A source explained: “There were children everywhere – Cheryl’s sister brought her children, so there were nieces and nephews running around everywhere. Plus everyone’s dogs.

“Kimberley went straight round to Cheryl as soon as she heard the news, and Nicola popped over. Everyone is so happy for them. Both their families are thrilled.”

The trio have always been the closest out of the Girls Aloud stars, and Nicola took to Instagram to publicly pay tribute to both Cheryl and Kimberley on Mother’s Day, sharing a photo and writing: “Happy Mother’s Day my 2/3rds @cherylofficial & @kimberleywalshofficial.

“Remember how we used to wonder what it would be like when we were older and the kids started coming… [Love] you both and love so much that there’s little bubba’s here now. [sic]”

Liam’s older sister Ruth also paid tribute to Cheryl on Mother’s Day, tweeting: “Happy first Mother’s Day @CherylOfficial eeek i just love him xxx”.

Cheryl’s other Girls Aloud bandmates, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding, also tweeted their congratulations, despite not being as close as the other three girls.

Nadine wrote: “Congratulations @cherylofficial I am so so happy for you & your precious little boy & family! Sending you loads of love! [sic]”.

Sarah added: “MASSIVE CONGRATS! to @CherylOfficial and @LiamPayne on their little bundle of newfound joy and all the adventures to come! Proud of u girl X [sic]”.

As well as their famous friends, Cheryl and Liam have also been inundated with messages of support from their millions of fans since they each posted a Polaroid photo of Liam cradling the tiny tot to social media on Saturday.

Cheryl captioned the picture with: “On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream.

“Although he still doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world.

“A day that now has a different meaning to me forever.”

Meanwhile, Liam wrote: “My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!

“I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far.

“I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she’s really made my dreams come true. We haven’t named him yet but he’s already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.”

And it sounds like Liam has taken to fatherhood like a duck to water, tweeting about the regular nappy changes during the early hours of this morning.
