Ed Sheeran to release secretly-recorded songs later this year

Just when we thought that Ed Sheeran couldn’t possibly give us any more, he’s revealed that he secretly-recorded some extra songs that are due for release later this year.

Yep, as though a full studio album and a world tour wasn’t enough, our favourite popstar is going to treat his fans to some fresh music towards the end of 2017.

Cor, you can’t say that his one-year hiatus from the spotlight wasn’t worth it, can you?

Speaking to The Sun, Ed has admitted that he recorded some music in Ghana with Fuse ODG and hip-hop duo R2Bees.

He explained: “We made a bunch of music, one song made the album then there’s more coming out.

“There’s actually a full song being released with me, Fuse and R2Bees.”

Ed visited Ghana in June last year in a bid to seek musical influence for his third studio album, ‘÷’, and it looks like all of his research paid off as the record has been a huge commerical success since it was released last month.

As well as dominating the music industry, Ed also revealed that he hopes to make a film in the near future, previously sharing: “I really want to make a film that I do the soundtrack for and star in – that’s my next thing.

“I look at a film like ‘Notting Hill’ and I think that’s like a brilliant benchmark, or ‘Once’. So if you were to mix ‘Notting Hill’ with ‘Once’, I would say that would be a good start.

“I don’t think I will do an album as a soundtrack, but I will definitely put together a soundtrack with a bunch of my songs on it, but I don’t think it will be an album.

“I am in talks with one filmmaker that I really f***ing love and we are going to slowly but surely put something together. I would want to cast all unknowns. I want to have low-budget, indie, British-made film.”

Ed no doubt got a taste for the movie industry when he had a cameo in the latest Bridget Jones instalment, Bridget Jones’ Baby, which was released last year.
