Ed Sheeran to make his comeback at the Grammy Awards

There is no denying that 2016 has been a difficult year for the vast majority, made all the more difficult by the lack of Ed Sheeran due to his social media hiatus that kicked off in December 2015.

Although we were blessed to get our fix of Ed via his cameo in Bridget Jones’ Baby, as well as the fact he wrote a few hit songs for other artists, we have to admit that we have missed him a lot over the past 12 months.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ed Sheeran is BACK.

Which is why we are excited to report that our fave ginger star is set to return to the spotlight at the 2017 Grammy Awards in February.

Just two more months to go – we can manage that, right?

Speaking to The Sun, a source explained: “Ed became one of the world’s most in-demand musicians with his last album and the Grammys is the perfect place to make his return.

“Millions will be tuning in for his performance and he is planning to pull out all of the stops to really wow everyone.”

We couldn’t be more excited for Ed’s return.

It had previously been announced that Ed is also set to headline Glastonbury next year, with the singer set to live out one of his biggest dreams at Worthy Farm in June.

And Ed wasn’t the only one chuffed with the signing, with an insider revealing that Glastonbury organisers, Michael and Emily Eavis, couldn’t be more stoked to have nabbed the hitmaker.

The source said at the time: “Michael is delighted to get Ed signed up.

“It’s going to be a huge moment for the festival having him up there marking his comeback in front of a giant crowd.

Ed is also reported to be performing at Glastonbury in 2017.

“Ed’s always said headlining Glastonbury has been a big ambition of his. Topping his three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows last year will be tough, but this is as big as it gets.”

Earlier this month, Twitter went into meltdown when Ed tweeted for the first time in exactly one year; although he didn’t say anything, he did post an image of the colour blue as well as changing his profile pic and cover photo to the same shade.

Fingers crossed a new Ed Sheeran album will be with us sooner rather than later.
