Tyrann Mathieu won’t play this year but will maintain his Twitter profile

Tyrann Mathieu is entering his second week of drug rehab, but for the past week he's been keeping his Twitter followers up-to-date on his progress while trying to stay positive as he battles marijuana addiction.

Mathieu's father, Tyrone Mathieu, told ESPN.com that his son would sit out the entire 2012 season and concentrate on working through personal problems with former NBA coach and player John Lucas at the Right Step recovery center in Houston.

"Tyrann is working on discipline, maturity and character," Tyrone Mathieu said. "He's making life adjustments."

Mathieu has tweeted multiple times that he's continuing to work out in between counseling sessions. Perhaps tweeting and keeping in touch with his nearly 156,000 followers is just as therapeutic as the support he's receiving in the recovery center.
