Taking preventative steps during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

According to the University of Washington Medical Center, in the last 30 years, colorectal cancer has risen by 50 % among people under 50 and they expect it to become the leading cause of cancer death among people under 50 by 2030.

The American Cancer Society reports it’s the number one cancer death among men and number two among women.
