Mtn Dew Is Releasing a New Flavor — But It's Only Available at One Restaurant Chain

If sodas were people, Mountain Dew would be your buddy who's down for whatever. Want to make a Flamin' Hot Cheetos flavor? Sure. Want to release a cookbook? Why not! Want to create a boozy hard soda spinoff? Hell yeah! That freewheeling attitude applies to collaborating with restaurants as well. Baja Blast — which originally debuted at Taco Bell — may be the most famous example, but Mtn Dew has also supplied exclusive flavors to plenty of other chains like Bojangles and KFC.

So, knowing the Dew's modus operandi, the brand's latest exclusive Mtn Dew flavor partnership doesn't really feel that surprising at all: the chicken wing-focused chain Buffalo Wild Wings is getting a new variety called Mtn Dew Legend.

This new MTN DEW BWW flavor — the first time a PepsiCo brand has been exclusively sold by the sports bar chain — is touted as something that's "bringing sports fans a reason to celebrate." Mtn Dew Legend is said to be "inspired by the latest blackberry flavor craze," offering "the exhilarating taste of original Mtn Dew with notes of blackberry, citrus, and ginger" in a way that is "uniquely designed to elevate Buffalo Wild Wings' sauces, burgers, and other bar food items."

"Buffalo Wild Wings and Mtn Dew both know a thing or two about passionate fan bases and how to take celebrations to the next level with great-tasting food and beverages," Scott Finlow, chief marketing officer of PepsiCo Global Foodservice, said in a statement. "Together, our goal is to elevate the sports viewing and dining experience."

Meanwhile, though this is the first exclusive PepsiCo beverage to be sold by Buffalo Wild Wings, the chain's chief marketing officer, Rita Patel, pointed out how the two companies have worked together before. "We have a longstanding relationship with PepsiCo, and we are known for bringing fans unexpected bold flavors like the Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Flavored Sauce," she said. "We are thrilled to continue our collaboration for one-of-a-kind menu offerings."

Select Buffalo Wild Wings locations will begin serving Mtn Dew Legend today, with a national rollout to all BWW locations set to wrap up by mid-May.
