Climate Protesters Glue Themselves to City Street in South Australia

Climate protesters glued themselves to a busy city street in Adelaide, South Australia, on March 10, protesting against Australian energy company Santos.

This video live streamed on Facebook by Extinction Rebellion South Australia shows a number of demonstrators sitting in the middle of Flinders Street, holding signs that read “glued on for my grandkids” as police cordon off the area.

Other protesters took to the balcony of the Santos building further along the street, to set off flares and deface the buildings’ windows with phrases including “renewables recovery now”.

According to local reports the protests caused peak-hour traffic delays in the city. South Australian Police warned commuters to steer clear of the area and find an alternate route. Credit: Extinction Rebellion South Australia via Storyful
