Texas DB Ishmael Ibraheem charged after allegedly violating Oklahoma revenge porn law

Texas defensive back Ishmael Ibraheem was charged with violating Oklahoma’s revenge porn law after he allegedly shared sexually explicit images of an Oklahoma State student, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Ibraheem has been suspended from all team activities, a Texas spokesman told the American-Statesman.

An Oklahoma State student contacted university police on Sept. 1 and told them that she received a screenshot of a TikTok video that showed her and Ibraheem having sex earlier in the year. The sex was consensual, she said.

The student reportedly told police that she didn’t want the video to be seen by anyone, and Ishmael told her that he had “unsent” it to another person, per the American-Statesman.

It’s unclear if Ibraheem sent it to anyone else. Oklahoma State filed a charge of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images against Ibraheem, and an arrest warrant was issued Friday. The charge, a misdemeanor in Oklahoma, is part of a 2016 law about revenge porn.

Ibraheem played in Texas’ 58-0 win over Rice on Sept. 18 before the freshman suffered a season-ending knee injury.

“We were made aware of the allegations involving Ishmael Ibraheem in early September and immediately cooperated with the University and legal processes, which remain ongoing,” Texas said in a statement, via the American-Statesman. “In light of the new information and his recent charges, he has been suspended from all team activities at this time as we continue to monitor the legal process.”
