Miley just came in like a wrecking ball against cheating rumors on Twitter

Update, August 22nd, 5:00 p.m. EDT: This post has been updated with Miley Cyrus’s comments on Twitter this afternoon.

Miley Cyrus isn’t about to let the rumors win. This afternoon, the “Slide Away” singer got seriously candid about her split from Liam Hemsworth in a long Twitter thread—including addressing rumors that she cheated.

“I fucked up and cheated in relationships when I was young,” she admits.

However, she makes it clear that cheating is entirely in her past.

She goes on to say that the split has been a “healthy decision” and that she’s the “healthiest and happiest” she has been in a long time.

“You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking , foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar,” she adds.

The Twitter thread details many other admissions, in her words, from her past, to show that she has grown. They range from losing a Walmart deal at 17 for “ripping a bong” to being “kicked off hotel Transylvania for buying Liam a penis cake for his birthday and licking it.”

Check out the whole thread:

We love Miley just being Miley and opening up not just about the breakup, but about herself in general—though she never has to explain herself to the world.

Within an hour of the separation being announced, Cyrus was spotted by paparazzi kissing Kaitlynn Carter on a boat in Italy, where the two are currently enjoying a girls’ trip. Carter also just announced her breakup from Brody Jenner. People reports the women are “just having fun” together.

On Sunday, August 11th, Cyrus was the first to speak out following the split, taking to social media to post a message about embracing change. Though she didn’t mention her husband by name, her caption about personal growth falls in line with her rep’s statement regarding why she and Hemsworth decided to go their separate ways.

She also didn’t waste any time when Carter’s ex Jenner made a joke about her split on Instagram, writing, “Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.”

The 26-year-old clapped back with a comment of her own, writing, “@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer.”

For those of you who haven’t tuned into The Hills: New Beginnings, Cyrus’s Instagram comment was a reference to a scene in the show’s debut episode in which the reality star storms out and sleeps in his car following a heated argument with Carter.

Then, on August 12th, Hemsworth finally weighed in on his split from Cyrus. The Daily Mail Australia caught up with the Hunger Games star in his native country to ask him how he’s doing—and his response was truly heartbreaking. “You don’t understand what it’s like,” he told the outlet. “I don’t want to talk about it, mate.”

All this brings us to today, August 13th, when Hemsworth got candid about the split on his own Instagram, making him the first to officially confirm the breakup.

“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote in the caption of a landscape shot.

Notably, he said that it marks the first time he’s made a statement about the Miley Cyrus split, disputing the attributed quote from The Daily Mail Australia.

“This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false,” he wrote. “Peace and Love.”

Ugh, nothing breaks like a heart, and this is a breakup none of us will get over soon.
