Wayne Rooney had 'no idea' that Coleen was going to post emotional marriage statement online

On Friday, Coleen Rooney broke her silence following husband Wayne’s latest ‘party girl’ scandal, posting a lengthy and emotional message about her marriage to her Facebook page.

In the post, Coleen defended standing by her footballer husband and denied reports that she had kicked Wayne out.

Now it has been reported that Wayne had no idea that Coleen was going to make the statement, with the pregnant mother of his three children using it as a form of “punishment” for him.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source explained: “Coleen didn’t tell Wayne about the post until a few minutes before she put it up.

“It’s her way of dealing with everything. Putting their problems out there for all to see is part of Wayne’s punishment.”

Coleen and Wayne’s nine-year marriage was rocked when Wayne was caught driving another woman, Laura Simpson’s, car whilst drunk, with Laura going on to imply that she would have bedded the Everton striker had the police not stopped them.

Opening up about the incident, Coleen told her followers: “In life, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. But one thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is a dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence.

“I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically.”

She added: “A few people are probably thinking [I] am stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it’s something I want to try and work on.”

Coleen poignantly concluded the post with: “I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do.

“I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point, I’m not the type of person to put a show on and say we’re all loved-up… I’m just real.”
