Kyrie Irving pays tribute to his late mom with special edition sneakers
Kyrie Irving returned to the court on Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets after missing one game due to a minor facial fracture he suffered on Friday.
The masked Irving helped the Boston Celtics to their 13th win in a row, but it was sneakers that made more noise than his 25-point night.

Irving’s special edition of the Nike Kyrie 3 was a beautiful way to honor his mother, Elizabeth, who died when Irving was four.

The Nike Basketball collab with Sneaker Room has so many details that make this shoe special.
The large rose toward the back of the heel surrounds the end of the Nike swoosh. “MOM” is embroidered on tongue, replacing Irving’s usual “KI” logo. The black and white polka dots on the lining and a gift tag that reads “I Love you Mom” adds a nice touch to the shoe.
Kyrie paying tribute to his mom with special edition sneakers is the best thing ever. He even changed the logo to "MOM" pic.twitter.com/xI9vUVyj2o

The coolest thing about the special edition shoes is Irving took them off his feet after the game and gave them to a military member of the United States Armed Forces that was sitting courtside.
Well done, Kyrie. On all fronts.
