Ed Sheeran earned £47,000 a day last year - despite taking it off

At the end of 2015, Ed Sheeran announced that he would be taking a year off work to travel the world and basically enjoy life as a normal twenty-something, disappearing from the limelight for an entire 12 months.

Proving true to his word, the flame-haired singer returned to the public eye in 2017 with a brand new album and a series of epic songs that quickly dominated the UK charts.

However, it has now been revealed that Ed didn’t return to his career for any reason other than his love of music, with it being reported that the star earned a staggering £47,000 a day in 2016 despite taking it off.

Blimey.

The 26-year-old singer earned £17.2million in sales for his company, paying himself a cool £15.5million, with figures showing that Ed earned £39.4million from sales alone in just three years.
