Social distancing. It’s a term you likely didn’t know a week ago, but amid the coronavirus pandemic its now a phrase you probably use daily. As we all spend more time indoors, one thing that’s important to keep doing is moving our bodies, both for our physical health and our mental wellbeing as well — studies do show that exercise helps mitigate anxiety. So as more and more experts tell us to skip going to the gym to help flatten the curve, here are 10 free workout apps to try from the comfort of your living room.

Nike Training Club

The Nike-branded app has over 185 free workouts for all levels. Workouts include strength, endurance, yoga and mobility training. Over time and regular use, the app it will get to know what users like to do and start offering recommended workouts based on those preferences.

This app provides a month-long journey to perfecting the squat — and dramatically increasing the number of squats a user can do in a day. Over the course of the month, the squat workouts slowly get harder and harder, until the ultimate challenge on day 30. This app is a handy at-home workout companion, featuring 10 different 5-10 minute workouts, as well as 10 full-body workouts. The more expansive, paid, option has nearly 400 workouts to choose from.
