Adele treats young Grenfell Tower survivors to private film screening

Adele has been keeping a relatively low profile since she was forced to cancel the final dates of her huge international tour last month, however, it has now been revealed that the star has been dedicating her time to helping local communities, particularly the victims of the Grenfell Tower blaze.

Adele was one of the first celebrities at the scene following the tragic fire that took the lives of over 80 people back in June, with countless others suffering serious injury and all residents of the tower block losing their homes and belongings.

The singer did not publicise her visit but was pictured offering comfort and emotional support at a vigil for survivors, and two months later Adele hasn’t forgotten the victims.

In fact, the mum-of-one organised a private screening of new children’s film Despicable Me 3 for young survivors of the tragedy, organising the event at Whiteley’s cinema in Queensway, London, and even organising for minions to be in attendance as a treat for the children.

Adele was make-up-free as she joined the kids for the screening, with a source telling The Sun: “Adele sees her work in the community as a full-time priority now her touring days are over for the foreseeable future.

“Being a local Londoner, she’s made no secret about how personally affected she was by the Grenfell Tower blaze and wants to help in every way she can.

“While she’s working hard behind the scenes to raise cash, she wanted to treat residents to a night of fun and help take their minds off what happened and organised a private viewing of the brand new Despicable Me 3 movie.”

One man shared a photo of his grandchildren with Adele in the cinema lobby, writing: “The amazing @Adele taking our grand kids to the cinema. So much love & effort for the #Grenfell kids – thank you.”

Another person shared a photo of a little boy gazing adoringly at the star ahead of the film.
