Caitlyn Jenner announces plans to record 'Dude Looks Like A Lady' duet with Aerosmith

Caitlyn Jenner has evoked debate with her latest Instagram picture, with the transgender star coming under fire for her choice of caption on a photo of herself with Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler.

Posting the snap on her popular social media page, Caitlyn joked: “@iamstevent and I are working on our duet for ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’.

“One of my favorite songs!”

At least we think she was joking.

The comment has caused a stir among Caitlyn’s followers, with many slamming the former Olympian for “encouraging transphobia” by poking fun at her transition.

One critic wrote: “You ignorant tw*t, it’s people like you that make me fear transition and you’re f*cking trans yourself.

“Do the community a favour and stop acting like you rep us, you are ruining us.”

Others added: “So by your own caption… You’re a dude? That’s some real trans progress there… Not!”

“I’ve been laughed out of cafes and bars with this song @caitlynjenner. This song is used as a form of transphobic abuse.

“So many have had it done to them like it was to me. Trans women are not ‘dudes’. We are women.”

“You’ve got to be kidding every binary trans woman in the world @caitlynjenner. This song has been used as humiliation towards us for years, how could you not know this?

“Are you even a real trans woman or is this just a continuation of a PR stunt to make trans women further stigmatised and ridicule?

“Either shut the f*ck up or speak wisely. Acknowledge that most trans women have sweet f*ck all privilige so use your privilige ethically.”

However, others rushed to Caitlyn’s defence, writing: “It’s a joke, get over it.”

The comment comes just days after Tokyo Toni launched a transphobic attack against the star.

And: “People need to learn to take a joke. Sit back and realise this is actually funny.”

Neither Caitlyn or Steven have acknowledged the backlash that the photo has received, with it coming just days after Caitlyn fell victim to a transphobic attack from Blac Chyna’s mum, Tokyo Toni.
