Killer jailed for 29 years for stabbing murder of Doveton woman Rani Featherston
A killer who stabbed his victim in the face and left her in a pool of blood on a suburban Melbourne street has been sentenced to 29 years behind bars.
Christian Bain-Singh murdered 34-year-old Rani Featherstone, who was found with stab wounds to her head and face, in the outer suburb of Eumemmerring in April 2014.
Her body was found about 500 metres from her Doveton home.

Bain-Singh was arrested in June 2016, two weeks after the victim's family made a plea for help in finding her killer.
Supreme Court of Victoria Justice Christopher Beale said Bain-Singh's offences were shocking but he had shown remorse and had good rehabilitation prospects, as he imposed a non-parole period of 22 years.
