EastEnders' spoilers: Confrontation and surprise engagements - the week ahead in Walford

Last weeks’ batch of EastEnders’ episodes ended with quite the cliffhanger as it was confirmed that Max Branning and Fi Browning are secretly enjoying an illicit affair together as they continue with their bid to destroy Albert Square.

In spite of that, Max is still working his magic on Carmel this week, treating her to a drink at the Vic after their night of passion.

And that’s not all Max is dealing with in Walford, as this week will also see the ginger lothario confront Steven about his brain tumour lie, ordering him to confess all to Lauren after Abi successfully managed to stop her sister from attending her fiance’s hospital appointment.

Will Steven finally spill the beans? And how on earth will Lauren react?

Thankfully, Lauren’s best mate, Whitney, is back on the scene and there to give her pal a shoulder to cry on as she breaks down over her messy relationship with Steven.

However, much to the surprise of, well, pretty much everybody, Whitney has some pretty exciting news for herself – she is engaged! And let’s just say that Mick isn’t the only one who is shocked to find out that her fiancee is none other than Woody, who also returns to our screens this week.

Although Whitney has managed to find happiness with someone else, will her and Mick’s hidden feelings for one another bubble over when they take the time to have a heart to heart?

Elsewhere, Karen is left reeling when Bernadette takes drastic action in order to get some luxury baby items, and things go from bad to worse when the police arrive to arrest Karen over Martin and Michelle’s stolen bench honouring their late father.

Just another quiet week in Walford then!
