Cristiano Ronaldo 'welcomes twins after using a surrogate for the second time'

It has been reported that footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has become a father again, welcoming twins after using a surrogate mother for the second time.

According to reports, the twins were born on Thursday [8 June] and are called Mateo and Eva.

The 32-year-old footballer has always been incredibly private about his family life and is yet to publicly confirm or comment on his exciting news, but back in March it was claimed that he is expecting two new additions to his brood soon.

Speaking at the time, a source explained: “Cristiano and his family can’t wait to meet the new members of their clan.

“He likes to keep a tight lid on his private life but has told loved ones and close friends the babies are due to arrive very soon.

“He feels the time is right for his boy to have brothers to grow up with. His mum Dolores will be there to lend a helping hand like she has been with little Cristiano.”

The star is already dad to seven-year-old Cristiano Jr., with it being thought that this was also via surrogacy as the identity of his mother has never been revealed.

However, Cristiano previously defended raising his son without a mum, explaining on The Jonathan Ross Show: “For me it is not a problem. I will say in the world, many kids don’t have mum, don’t have dads or dads die or mums die… Cristiano has a dad, an unbelievable dad.

“[He has] a grandmother, I have the support of my family, great of course.

“Some points in life are private and people have to respect the privacy of other people.

“When Cristiano is going to grow up, I am always, always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son, but I am not going to say because people want me to say.”

The footballer already melts hearts with regular adorable photos of himself with Cristiano Jr. on Instagram, and we are sure that he will be no different with his two new arrivals once he has adjusted to being a father-of-three.
