New series of Cold Feet to air in September

Last year, ITV drama Cold Feet returned to our screens after 13 long years away, but luckily fans don’t have to wait quite as long for the next instalment of the show.

In fact, John Thomson, who plays Pete in the show, has revealed that the new series will begin in September, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Appearing on Loose Women earlier today, John simply said: “The official launch of the next series is September 11”, he has kept schtum on what might be in store for the likes of Pete, Jenny, Adam, David and Karen, but we’re sure that it’s going to be good.

Cold Feet first began in 1997, and 48-year-old John went on to admit that he was initially scared about reviving the show last year due to its long hiatus.

He confessed: “It could have been a car crash. I was terrified. We went out with guns blazing with the storylines.

“The pacing of it was brilliant. I like to play the straight stuff which is out of my comfort zone.”

Thankfully the revival was critically acclaimed, with viewers feeling like they had been “reunited with old friends”.

Previously speaking about the upcoming series, writer Mike Bullen teased: “We all said we only wanted to bring Cold Feet back if we could maintain the standard previously set. I’ve been blown away by the show’s reception among viewers and critics alike.

“It has exceeded even my hopes. This recommission confirms that we didn’t screw it up. I shall take a moment to bask in the warm glow… OK, done that.

“Now the hard graft resumes.”

As well as John, Cold Feet also stars James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, and Fay Ripley.
