Piers Morgan stunned as killer confesses murder to him after 14 years of blaming her husband

Piers Morgan is a man who is very rarely left at a loss for words, however, the TV presenter was shocked when a woman who had blamed a murder on her abusive husband confessed to him on camera that she was the one who came up with the plan.

Ashley Humphrey was being interviewed by Piers for his ITV programme ‘Killer Women’ when she admitted that she was the one who wanted to murder Sandra Rozzo, not her husband Timothy Humphrey, which she had testified in court.

Ashley confessed all to Piers.

In 2003, Ashley shot the other woman eight times from close range and is serving 25 years in prison for the act, however, Timothy is serving life in prison after Ashley took a plea bargain and accused him of manipulating her into pulling the trigger.

Sandra, Timothy’s ex-girlfriend, was due to appear in court after accusing Timothy of battery and sexual assault, and Ashley admitted to Piers on the show: “I suggested what if she were not to show up in court.

“That is where it started and it snowballed. I was the first to say it.

“I don’t know why I let him into my head the way I did.”

Had Ashley confessed this at the time, she would have been given a far worse sentence and Timothy may not have been convicted at all.

The convict continued: “Let me say if I was doing life, I would feel I deserved it. I feel very fortunate not to be doing life.”

Speaking to The Mirror about the revelation, Piers shared: “I wasn’t aware of just how big a bombshell this was until the detective who originally investigated the case gasped with shock when I told him what Ashley had confessed and said that if she’d said that at the time she might have got the death penalty.

Piers was left stunned by the revelation.

“Until that point, I was quite sympathetic to her claim that she had acted entirely under the manipulative influence of her nasty piece of work husband.

“But Ashley’s admission that the murder was her idea changed everything. At that point, I realised I was dealing with a very dangerous, disturbed woman.”

Killer Women airs on Thursdays at 9pm on ITV.
