Ariana Grande pays tribute to her 'angels' as she resumes tour with heightened security

Last night, Ariana Grande bravely resumed her Dangerous Woman tour, taking to the stage in France for her first solo gig since her concert at Manchester Arena on May 22 was targeted by a suicide bomber who killed 22 people.

After the attack, the “traumatised” star suspended her tour, cancelling a string of European dates as she grieved for the lost lives and organised One Love Manchester, a benefit gig to help those who had been affected by the attack.

Taking to Instagram last night ahead of her show at Paris’ AcoorHotels Arena, Ariana proved that her fans who were killed in last month’s attack were still not far from her mind, paying tribute to her “angels” as she prepared to return to her stage.

Sharing a photo of the Eiffel Tower, Ariana wrote: “First show back tonight. Thinking of our angels every step of the way. I love you with all my heart.

“Grateful for and incredibly proud of my band, dancers and entire crew. I love you, I love you.”

Ariana moved people to tears with her performances during One Love Manchester.

Understandably, Ariana’s show saw heightened security, with there being a heavy police presence outside of the venue and roads surrounding the arena were blocked off two hours before the concert was due to start.

Paris’ police force confirmed that they had ramped their security measures up to their highest level for the show.

After closing the show, Ariana took to Instagram again, this time writing: “Merci, Paris. Je’taime.

Merci, Paris ♡ Je t'aime Grateful to be back ????????

“Gratfeul to be back.”

The 23-year-old star’s return to her tour comes just days after she was praised across the globe for her incredible One Love Manchester show on Sunday night, which was broadcast live to 50 countries and streamed online.

The gig, which was pulled together in little over a week, saw a whole host of famous faces – including Justin Bieber and Katy Perry – perform for free in a bid to raise money for Manchester Attack victims.

Ariana herself was present for the majority of the three-hour show, performing a string of collaborations as well as paying tribute to those who lost their lives.

The show ended up raising over £2million in donations during its three-hour run time alone, catapulting the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund well over the £10million mark.
