Ariana Grande says she's 'broken' following Manchester concert attack

Ariana Grande has given a brief statement on Twitter following the attack at her concert in Manchester last night.

So far, 22 people have been confirmed dead and another 59 have been injured following the explosion at Manchester Arena just after the 23-year-old star had finished her performance.

Writing on social media, Ariana wrote: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”

Her manager, Scooter Braun, also released a statement, which read: “Tonight our hearts are broken. Words cannot express our sorrow for the victims and families harmed in this senseless attack.

“We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act.

“We are thankful for the selfless service of Manchester’s first responders who rushed towards danger to help save lives.

“We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.”

Other celebrities have also been expressing their sympathy, including the likes of Harry Styles and Liam Gallagher:

It is thought that Ariana Grande is “unlikely” to perform her scheduled show at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday [25 May], and Take That, whose thee-night tour at Manchester Arena was due to start on Thursday, are also unlikely to go ahead with their scheduled shows.
