Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Bizarre rules their surrogate will have to follow

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian revealed her heartache at not being able to carry a third child, with her and her husband Kanye West’s only options for expanding their brood being surrogacy or adoption.

Now TMZ have claimed that the famous couple have found a surrogate through an agency, with Kim and Kanye reportedly set to pay the anonymous woman a huge $45,000 [£35,620] in 10 instalments over the course of her pregnancy.

On top of the $45,000, the woman will be paid an additional $5,000 [£3,957] per child if she ends up having a multiple pregnancy, and she will also be entitled to $4,000 [£3,166] if she suffers any medical issues during the process.

Kim and Kanye, who are already mum and dad to four-year-old North and 18-month-old Saint, will also have to pay $68,850 [£54,500] to the agency.

The surrogate will not be allowed to smoke, drink alcohol, take drugs, go in hot tubs or saunas, handle cat litter, dye her hair, eat raw fish or drink more than one caffeinated drink per day if she agrees to carry Kimye’s child, and she will also need to restrict sexual activity in the weeks leading up to her being impregnated and three weeks afterwards.

According to TMZ, the agreement also states that Kim and Kanye will “assume the legal and parental responsibilities for any child that may possess any congenital or other abnormalities or defects”.

Neither Kim or Kanye have publicly commented on the reports but the speculation comes after both Kim’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian, and mother, Kris Jenner, offered to be her surrogate.

Kim suffered from a whole host of pregnancy-related health issues when she was carrying both North and Saint, and the star has since been warned by medical professionals that she could die if she were to fall pregnant for a third time.
