Yahoo News WATCH: Cheryl's ex-husband Jean-Bernard refuses to comment on baby Bear in awkward live interview
It seems that everybody and their mother are talking about Liam Payne and Cheryl’s newborn baby son, Bear.
However, there is one person who would rather not discuss the newest bundle of joy in the celebrity world – Cheryl’s ex-husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
Understandably, the French businessman was left feeling pretty awkward when he was asked about his ex-wife in an interview from the Cannes Film Festival on Good Morning Britain earlier today.
GMB’s showbiz reporter, Richard Arnold, went a little bit off-topic when he sat down with Jean-Bernard for a chat abut his new pop-up restaurant, Versini, in Cannes.
Getting straight to the point, he asked: “Do you have a message for Cheryl about her baby?”
An unimpressed Jean-Bernard quickly replied: “Well you know what it’s the 70th film festival, we might as well focus on this festival and making it the best possible.
“It’s the first time with my venture here and I just want to make it count and make it big.”
The show then cut back to Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid in the Good Morning Britain studio, with Susanna summing it all up when she quipped: “Hashtag awks.”
Jean-Bernard and Cheryl tied the knot in July 2014 after a whirlwind three months together, however, they separated in 2015 before officially divorcing in October 2016.
Before their divorce was finalised, Cheryl had already shacked up with One Direction star Liam and was pregnant with his baby, with their son, Bear, being born in March
The awkward chat with Jean-Bernard comes just one day after Cheryl broke her Twitter silence, with the star retreating from the public eye since becoming a mum.
She took to her popular social media page to promote Liam’s upcoming debut single ‘Strip That Down’, which is due for release on Friday.
Chezza then engaged in a chat with her fans, thanking them for their well-wises and reassuring them that both she and baby Bear are doing well.
