St Kilda star Josh Bruce has produced arguably the worst miss in AFL history, managing to hit the post from just metres out against Hawthorn.

Late in their clash in Launceston on Saturday, Bruce ran into an open goal before blasting away from point blank range.

But the young gun somehow managed to hit the post, shanking the ball shockingly off the side of his boot.

Luckily for Bruce the Saints were already well ahead and went on to record a convincing 19.16 (130) to 8.7 (55) win.

However the shocker is sure to be replayed countless times in coming seasons.
