EastEnders spoilers: Mick's back and Denise is starving - the week ahead in Walford

Last week we were all left shocked when EastEnders dropped a clanger of a summer trailer, hinting at a whole load of drama soon to be unfolded, and it looks like it’ll all start kicking off this week.

With Mick back and furious about Shirley selling the freehold, and a desperate Denise discovering what became of Cora, we can hardly wait for these plots to well and truly begin.

Here is what you can expect to hit your screens in the coming days:

Denise Fox finally decides that enough is enough, visiting the job centre to sign up for benefits. However, things go from bad to worse when she’s told that they can’t help her before her application has been approved, leaving her to go hungry for another night. Later in the week, Denise is given even more bad news from the job centre and they advise her to visit a food bank – with Denise being left shocked when she discovers that Cora Cross works there.

Meanwhile, Denise’s sister, Kim, is left frustrated when Denise refuses to help her with her campaign to save the community centre, and when D’s ex-boyfriend, Kush Kazemi, attempts to move on and go on a date, Kim is on hand to sabotage it.

Ian finally takes this healthy eating lark seriously.

Elsewhere, Kush’s mother, Carmel, is in for a shock when the market’s stall holders turn on her after learning that she has a job interview with the council, and Martin Fowler is annoyed when his wife Stacey lets Kush spend time with baby Arthur, but Stace soon encourages him to make amends.

Over at the Beale’s, Ian is so determined to stick to a healthy lifestyle that he signs up to a slimming club. After his first meeting, and some wise words from newbie Woody, Ian stuns his wife Jane when he decides to go for a run – has he really changed his ways?

Also, it’s all going on at the Vic, with Mick Carter making his much-anticipated return to the pub, but something tells us that he won’t be happy when he learns that Shirley and Linda have sold the freehold… Meanwhile, Whitney is left devastated when she gets a letter from Lee’s lawyer about their divorce and she heads off to the shopping centre, insisting that she has moved on. However, when Woody finds her he is left shocked by what he sees.

Things also continue to deteriorate for Jack Branning, with Max determined to ruin his brother’s life.
