Niall Horan insists that he's not 'in competition' with Harry Styles

Last week was a pretty huge week for One Direction fans, with both Harry Styles and Niall Horan releasing new solo music within two days of each other.

On Tuesday, Harry dropped his single ‘Sweet Creature’, his second single from his self-titled debut album, which is released this Friday.

On Thursday, Niall released his follow up single to ‘This Town’, ‘Slow Hands’, and has since been doing the rounds on the interview circuit.

During one interview, the Irish star was keen to let everybody know that there are no hard feelings between himself and his One Direction bandmate, insisting that they are not in competition with one another despite releasing music at similar times.

Speaking to Ash London Live, Niall said: “The public will always try to make out that we are competing against each other. People will always try to do that.

“But me and Harry are texting each other, emailing each other… There will never be that… We make completely different music, there will never be any of that.”

Phew, we can all breathe a sigh of relief now, can’t we?

Niall has proved time and again that he is his former bandmates’ biggest cheerleader, often complimenting the boys’ solo efforts on his social media channels.

In fact, last week Niall commented: “Ah, that tune mate. Loved it, bro.” on Harry’s YouTube page and also praised Louis Tomlinson’s newest photoshoot, writing: “Good shot, bud. Miss ya.” on Instagram.

All in all, it’s safe to say that even though we now have four solo careers to track, and goodness it can be hard at times, at least we know that all of our four 1D boys are supporting one another and we will never be forced to choose between them.
