Katie Price won't be investigated by Ofcom for using the N-word on This Morning

Ofcom have confirmed that they will not be investigating Katie Price after she shocked This Morning viewers by dropping the N-word twice during a live interview.

Viewers were left horrified last month when Katie repeated the racial slur that she said is regularly made against her 14-year-old son Harvey, who suffers from a series of health issues.

Explaining their decision not to investigate the remarks, an Ofcom spokesperson said: “We considered a handful of complaints about potentially offensive language in this mid-morning magazine programme.

“We found it was used in a descriptive manner to illustrate the nature of online abuse and the presenters issued an apology immediately after the broadcast.”

The former glamour model was appearing on This Morning to discuss her ongoing petition to make cyberbullying a criminal offence, with Harvey being constantly targeted by cruel trolls due to his severe disabilities.

Harvey faces vile abuse on a daily basis.

Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome, ADHD, autism, and is blind, and Katie has been incredibly vocal about the cruel comments that he receives on the internet – including one instance where a troll made a fake sex tape featuring her son.

Listing some of the horrific messages that Harvey has received, Katie said that he’d been called “a blind, black n*****” and a “G*******”.

Letting the first instance slide, hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield agreed that the use of the word is “deeply offensive”, however, when Katie repeated the N-word again, saying: “Calling my son a n***** isn’t acceptable”, Phillip snapped: “You don’t need to say it again.”

Katie’s comments were also met with backlash online, however, the star stood her ground at the time, saying in a defiant video: “Yes, I did use the word n****r because that’s what people call my son. They call him a blind n****r, they call him a black s****c, they call him a g****g.

“So I’m glad I’ve made headlines using that word because I want to get it out there that it’s not acceptable.

“Just think about it, there are people out there who have to put up with that kind of abuse. Because I’m in the public eye I can speak about it and it’s got to stop.”

More than 200,000 have signed Katie’s petition to make online bullying a criminal offence in the UK.
