Liam Payne confirms baby son's name in sweet message to Bear Grylls

We were all shocked when it was reported yesterday that Liam Payne and Cheryl had named their newborn son Bear.

The Sun had claimed that the pair had settled on the moniker for their bundle of joy, born on March 22nd, after spending a couple of weeks to get to know him.

Needless to say, as soon as the odd choice of name went public fans reacted in their thousands, with many questioning whether or not the reports were true.

Well, Liam himself has now confirmed the news in a sweet tweet to Bear Grylls – and he doesn’t seem to be at all bothered by the public’s bemused reaction.

Sharing a link to a news article about baby Bear Payne, Grylls wrote: “Great choice!

“Love and blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure… @CherylOfficial @LiamPayne.”

Liam replied: “Thanks man, hope he grows [up] with an ounce of your courage!

“You’re a boss.”

Neither Liam or Cheryl have commented any further on their son’s name.

An insider previously dished: “Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name.

“They spent over a week getting to know him first before deciding. They wanted to get to know him before they decided on the name.

“They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth but they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him.

“They love their little baby Bear Payne and are truly over the moon and loving being parents for the first time together.”

The name confirmation comes after Liam quipped that he is watching “a lot of daytime TV” at home now that he is a father whilst signing autographs for fans in London yesterday.
