Susanna Reid defends Kim Kardashian's untouched photos: 'We should celebrate cellulite'

In case you missed it, Kim Kardashian has been targeted by cruel Twitter trolls after some untouched photos of herself on a beach in Mexico were published online.

In the snaps, the 36-year-old mother-of-two has cellulite on her bottom and thighs, similarly to every other woman in the world.

Despite cellulite being a totally normal occurrence, people have been taking it as an excuse to bash Kim, with many mocking her on social media – including rent-a-gob Katie Hopkins, who shared the photos and wrote: “Kim should not be body shamed. She should be body mortified.”

However, one lovely celeb who had no time for the bodyshaming of women is Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid, who praised Kim for her fantastic body as she rubbished the critics.

In this morning’s episode of GMB, host Piers Morgan said of the snaps: “The air brushing is in your face – these are not the ‘consumption for public view’ pictures.

“This is what she really looks like.”

Susanna hit back: “I think she looks fantastic!”

She added that Kim was “looking absolutely incredible” and “very slim”.

Susanna continued: “I’m glad these pictures are a bit more honest.

“Cellulite is to be celebrated and I think women will embrace the honesty. I think it’s refreshing to see pictures of Kim Kardashian when she doesn’t look so cellulite-free.”

Susanna later took to her popular Twitter page to really try and drum the message home to her fans, writing: “Cellulite is not a flaw. It is a feature of many bodies, regardless of gender, shape or size.

“Keep fit and healthy, sure. But your body is a huge part of your identity. Constantly criticising it – eg cellulite/chin – doesn’t feel good.”

We couldn’t agree more, Suze.

Kim previously opened up about her body image battle, admitting that she wasn’t happy with her cellulite and telling Shape magazine: “I have cellulite, just like almost every other woman on the planet.

“And just because I feel secure with my body doesn’t mean I think cellulite is cute!

“It will always be an issue for me. So let’s just say it’s a work in progress!”

In response to the publication of the photos, Kim took to Twitter to mock her critics, writing: “I’m just sitting here on the beach with my flawless body.”

You tell ’em, Kim.

And kudos to Susanna for keeping Girl Power well and truly alive.
