It was soon revealed that Ferne is pregnant with Arthur’s baby, with the star releasing a statement to confirm the bittersweet news as well as to express her sympathy for the victims of the attack.

After weeks of shying away from the public eye, pregnant Ferne stepped back into the limelight on This Morning earlier today, speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield about her impending life as a single mum.

Fighting back tears, Ferne explained: “It has been such a stressful, surreal situation to be in. I’m actually feeling good and positive because I’m pregnant that has given me strength and hope to get through this.

“This isn’t how I imagined my first pregnancy to be, but it’s not about me, it’s about this baby.”

Ferne broke down as she added: “My main concern and priority is the baby. The public have been so amazing, so supportive, and that’s what’s got me through.

“Reading through my private messages has been so touching, so humbling. That’s what I’m so grateful for.

“From single mums and dads to people who have never even seen me on TV, everyone has been amazing.”

Holly and Phil comforted Ferne before asking if she’d decided whether or not she’ll find out the sex of her baby, with Ferne replying: “I’m completely undecided.

“I’m quite an impatient person, but now I’m in the situation I’m thinking it will be such a lovely surprise.

“I can’t wait to meet my baby. It’s not going to be easy but I’m going to be the best possible mum I can be.”

Ferne’s interview comes after it was reported that she’d lost out on a lucrative TV job due to her connection with Arthur’s attack, with The Sun claiming that she was being seriously considered to join a new television project but bosses ultimately decided to distance themselves from the negative publicity.
