Gavin Rossdale to be axed from The Voice after just one series?

Wah, sad news for Gavin Rossdale fans – it looks like the Bush frontman might be axed from The Voice UK after just one series.

Say it ain’t so!

Gavin hasn’t been as popular as producers hoped.

Gavin has revealed that he is not yet in talks with the show’s producers about extending his contract, however, fellow coaches Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson have admitted that their negotiations have already begun.

Eek.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Gavin said that he was yet to discuss another series with producers, explaining: “I think they’re waiting until the end of the series. They’re waiting for us to clear every hurdle.”

Jennifer, will, and Tom have already entered negotiations.

However, Tom said when asked: “We’re talking about it now. It looks pretty positive. I hate to count my chickens before they hatch because I’ve been in this business for a long time.

“But they know I like the show. It’s all pretty positive. The deadline for a decision is the summertime.”

Will also confirmed that he is “in talks” with the show’s bigwigs and Jennifer added: “I’ve already said I will come back. I don’t see why I wouldn’t.

“I would love to do next year. I will make time for it because I’ve enjoyed this year. I’ve had a great time.”

As well as revealing that he isn’t in talks, Gavin also shared that he’ll be hung up on wondering what he did “wrong” if he isn’t asked to return, continuing to the publication: “If they don’t ask me back then a bit like when my acts went out, I would wonder what I did wrong.

“But I’ve had a great time doing it – it’s been incredible for me.

“People have got to know me a little bit, way more than they ever did before. You’ve just got to take the positive about it.”

Gavin has had a difficult stint on The Voice with it being reported at the beginning of the audition process that he was struggling to secure acts as he was too unknown, and he later became the only coach to not have any singers in this weekend’s final.

Speaking about losing both Max Vickers and Truly Ford in the semi-finals, the 51-year-old star shared: “It was a little disappointing in some ways and in other ways I haven’t thought about it at all. Of course I questioned my song choices.

“With Truly she is so complete I don’t know whether she is a bit intimidating for some people, the people who are voting at home.

“I just feel proud of the acts that I have, they are great and I think that everything is beginning for them really. This is an incredible platform for them.”

Whatever ITV are deciding at the moment, we’re certainly going to keep our fingers crossed that Gavin does return next season.
