WATCH: Russell Brand hijacks Katie Hopkins' radio show

It’s fair to say that in recent months, Russell Brand hasn’t been quite as outrageous as he used to be when he first burst onto the scene.

However, if you think that this means that the father-of-one has mellowed then we have news for you, with the comic getting a telling off after gatecrashing Katie Hopkins’ LBC radio show live on air.

Katie was stunned by Russell’s invasion.

Russell posted a video of the hijack on his Twitter page, quipping that he hoped to lure controversial rent-a-gob Katie “back to humanity”.

The star was speaking to a listener, Paul from Croydon, over the phone about the Swedish terror attack when Russell waltzed into the studio, with Katie apologising to listeners and saying: “Russell Brand has just burst into the studio asking if we’re live.”

She then told Russell to “have some sense of diplomacy” before scolding the comedian, ranting: “Don’t be so rude. Poor Paul here was just making an important point.

Russell said that he wanted to bring some ‘humanity’ to the rent-a-gob.

“Would you mind leaving my studio and I will deal with you after, you naughty child?”

Russell apologised to Paul but insisted that Katie had invited him in, which she denied. Katie then asked producers to cut Russell’s microphone before handing over to a news bulletin.

Posting footage of the entire thing to Twitter, Russell wrote: “Silly, daft, harmless fun. Luring ‘Hatie Kopkins’ back to humanity.”

Katie retorted: “Did your mother never teach you to knock?”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Katie was quick to get her own back on Russell and interrupted his Radio X show just minutes later.

Plonking herself down in the studio, the 42 year old quipped: “You’re incompetent. You talk nonsense and I talk sense. Are these your three monkeys? The three wise monkeys.”

Katie interrupted Russell’s show soon after.

However, Russell was quick to call her out on her inappropriate comments and accused the star of racism, retorting: “Katie saw a black man [in the studio] and immediately the word monkey leaped into her mind.

“I’m not an expert on psychiatry but it’s an interesting social cue.”

Undeterred, Katie continued: “Would you be able to do this show on your own? Do you need sidekicks?”

Attempting to ‘kill with kindness’, Russell continued: “Don’t be so mean Katie. Let’s cue up ‘All You Need is Love’ by the Beatles. Come back to humanity Katie Hopkins. It’s not too late for you to be compassionate.

“We love you Katie, we’re going to spit you back into love. Katie Hopkins a better woman than when she entered because of the power of love.

“We apologise for her swearing but we’re just grateful she didn’t say dead immigrants are meaningless.”

Something tells us that this is the start of a beautiful celebrity beef.
