Louis Tomlinson and family pay tribute to their late mother after a difficult weekend

We were thinking of Louis Tomlinson and his younger siblings this weekend, with the family facing their first Mother’s Day following the tragic death of their mum, Johannah Deakin, in December last year.

To make things even harder, the day before Mother’s Day was also Johannah’s 44th birthday and on Thursday Louis’ younger sisters, twins Phoebe and Daisy, turned 13.

Louis had his first big performance as a solo artist on Johannah’s birthday, taking to the stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami alongside his collaborator, Steve Aoki.

This is all the more poignant as just three days after his mother’s death, Louis hit the headlines when he took to the stage to give the debut performance of his first solo single, ‘Just Hold On’, which he bravely performed in Johannah’s memory during The X Factor final.

Despite his busy day, Louis still found the time to wish his mum a happy birthday, tweeting: “Happy birthday Mum. I love you x”.

Louis’ 18-year-old sister Lottie also sent birthday wishes, sharing a photo of herself with Johannah alongside the caption: “Happy birthday Mum, miss you and love you forever.”

Lottie has been praised for the way she has handled her mother’s death.

Daisy wrote: “Happy birthday mummy, I can’t put into words how much I miss you but I know you’re looking over us and protecting us all.

“Thank you for always being there for me, you are the bravest women ever and a little fighter but god takes the best, I hope you’re safe and having a nice birthday filled with fun.

“I hope I have made you proud and continue to and I love you billions, I will never forget you because you are the most important person in my life and I am eternally grateful for all the amazing memories I had with you, mummy.”

For Mother’s Day, Daisy shared another picture and continued: “Happy mother’s day mummy, can’t put into words how much I love you and miss you! Would give anything to have one last cuddle from you but I am happy you’re safe now and watching us.”

Lottie added: “Happy Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day was one of her favourite days as being a mum was the best job in the world to her. I love you.”

And 16-year-old Felicite shared a snapshot of her mum, simply writing: “Happy Mother’s Day, my role model alway.”

Johannah is also mum to three-year-old twins Daisy and Ernest.

It is believed that Louis had been in his home town of Doncaster earlier in the week to spend time with his family ahead of the emotional weekend and his showstopping Miami performance.

Johannah sadly passed away following a short battle with leukaemia just before Christmas.

Her family have been inundated with support from fans across the globe, with Louis taking to social media many times to thank his followers for the ongoing love that he and his family have received.
