Disgraced Coronation Street star Bruno Langley accused of trying to 'woo' 15-year-old girl

Last week disgraced Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault, but now the star has been reported to the police by another woman who claims that he tried to “woo” her 15-year-old daughter.

Bruno has denied “any recollection of an exchange”, insisting that he definitely would not have conversed with the girl if he was aware of her age.

Speaking to The Sun, the teen girl said that Bruno “creeped her out” when they met in a gym, with him later contacting her on Twitter.

She said: “He asked my age. It creeped me out. I walked away but he kept following.”

She alleges that he then messaged her “You’re absolutely beautiful. Are you single?” on social media.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that they are “assessing” the allegations, and enquiries are “ongoing”.

Bruno denied the claims in a statement, saying: “Over the years as an actor I have had hundreds of people that approach me and want to speak to me, and I also get many messages through social media.

“I have no recollection of an exchange that The Sun state happened over two years ago.

“I would not have conversed with a girl in the manner The Sun alleges, if I knew she was under the age of 16.

“I have never been contacted by any authority about an allegation of this nature.”

Bruno avoided jail following last week’s court case and was instead given a 12-month community order and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years as well as pay £500 in compensation to his victims.

The judge heard how the actor grabbed the first victim by her crotch after she collected her coat from the cloakroom, with the woman saying that she was “too shocked and angry” to react before she reported the incident to the police.

The second victim said that she was “forcefully touched” in an “intimate place” by the star.

Bruno, who was drunk at the time of the assaults, admitted to having a problem with alcohol and pleaded guilty to both assaults.

Speaking after his sentence, Bruno said: “I sincerely apologise to the people involved and affected by my disgraceful behaviour.

“I have no memory of what happened because of excessive alcohol consumption and it was for this reason I behaved completely out of character.”

After the allegations first came to light, Bruno was fired from ITV soap Coronation Street, where he had played gay character Todd Grimshaw for 16 years.
