Louis Tomlinson will not be charged for Los Angeles airport brawl

In proof that justice will at least sometimes prevail, it has been confirmed that Louis Tomlinson will not be charged for his altercation with a paparazzi at LAX airport last month.

The One Direction star has reportedly been asked to attend the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for an informal hearing, but it is unlikely that there will be any further action.

A spokesperson for the LA City Attorney’s Office explained: “Each of the parties will be interviewed regarding the incident and advised of the law and ways to avoid similar incidences in the future.

“Typically there is no further action taken by our office after the hearing.

“We do reserve the right to file charges up to one year from the date of the original incident should additional information or future actions require additional measures.”

Louis was arrested following the dramatic brawl which saw a pap fall to the floor after Louis tripped, knocking the man down with him.

At the time, the star was travelling with Eleanor Calder, and as the altercation with the pap took place she had been backed into a corner by at least two women, with Louis quickly rushing to her defence.

As he pulled the girls off Eleanor, they all fell to the floor and it is believed that they also tried to sue the 25-year-old singer for the incident.

However, sources tell TMZ that members of staff at LAX airport defended Louis to the police, insisting that it was clear that he didn’t mean to trip the pap or the women.

Louis’ lawyer, Martin Singer, also said that Louis had been “provoked”, explaining: “This is not the first or last time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity.

“While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence.”

After Louis’ arrest, it was revealed that the pap involved, Karl Larsen, had once boasted about provoking celebrities and that he had once sued Lana Del Rey’s team for $10,000 after he obtained a cut finger during a scuffle.

Louis has not publicly commented on the incident or court case.
