EastEnders' bosses insist 'popular' Danny Dyer is a consummate professional'

Last week, we were all left stunned when it was reported that Danny Dyer was taking a break from BBC soap opera EastEnders as his busy schedule and party lifestyle apparently got the better of him.

It wasn’t long before all sorts of sources and insiders came out of the woodwork to claim that the star, who plays lovable landlord Mick Carter, was causing unrest on the set of Albert Square with his wild and cocky behaviour – but show bosses are having none of it.

Danny deserves a break.

In fact, an official EastEnders’ spokesperson has hit back at allegations that Danny is anything less than professional when filming the show, insisting that he is on good terms with all cast and crew.

Speaking to The Mirror, they shared: “Danny is always a consummate professional.

“Danny has never walked off set, nor has he ever lost his temper or been rude to anyone at work.

“Danny is an extremely popular member of cast and respected by everyone on the show.”

The star has been working non-stop since he joined the soap.

Friends of the star believe that Danny is simply exhausted after working non-stop on the soap since he joined back in 2013, with the cockney hardman jetting off to South Africa with his family for a much-needed break.

Speaking out, a pal explained that the holiday will do him a world of good, adding: “He’s hoping to come back refreshed and back into work.”

The news comes after Danny’s teenage daughter, Dani, took to social media to blast critics of her dad, tweeting: “I swear to God, if I see one more bullsh*t lie about my dad on stupid papers, stupid, stupid, stupid people.”

Danny has not publicly commented on his decision to take a short break from the show, but we certainly wish him well and hope that he is back to his old self soon.
