Mayim Bialik has something to say about people calling grown women 'girls'

Mayim Bialik has had enough of people calling grown women "girls". In a powerful video — viewed by more than 1 million people — the Big Bang Theory star urged people to think about the language they use when describing women.

"When we use words to describe adult women that are typically used to describe children, it changes the way we view women — even unconsciously — so that we don't equate them with adult men," says Bialik.

To over come the issue, Bialik suggests that we politely correct people. "Maybe if we start using language that elevates women and doesn't equate them with sweet, small, cuddly, tender things, we'll start treating them as more than that as well," she said.

And, she raised a crucial point about the language we use to describe men. "We never call men boys because it's demeaning and emasculating," Bialik said.

True.
