Zayn Malik lashes out after defending Gigi Hadid's 'racist video'

Zayn Malik has seemingly lost his temper after being accused of being “ignorant” following his girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s ‘racism’ storm.

On Monday, Gigi was accused of ‘mocking Asian people’ after she was seen in her sister Bella’s Instagram story squinting her eyes in a bid to look like a Buddha cookie.

Zayn was quick to defend his girlfriend.

The supermodel did not respond to critics, but Zayn, who is half Pakistani, replied to one concerned fan with the flippant defence: “Trust me… She likes Asians.”

However, that wasn’t enough for some of the former One Direction star’s followers, who accused him of being “ignorant” as they pointed out that somebody who has an Asian boyfriend can still be racist.

Now Zayn has hit back, taking to Twitter once again to lash out at his critics.

The Muslim star seethed: “People’s nerve to call me ignorant when any chance they get I’m a terrorist!! To be racist goes against my very existence so please don’t try to educate me.”

Keen to draw a line under the entire incident, Zayn quickly followed up with a video of himself tie-dying a top.

This isn’t the first time that Gigi has been accused of being racially insensitive, being forced to apologise last November when she gave an offensive impersonation of Melania Trump during the American Music Awards.

Making sure that she got “the face right”, Gigi said to the camera with a thick accent: “I love my husband, President Barack Obama, and our children, Sasha and Malia.”

Whilst the live audience laughed at the impression, viewers at home were less impressed and accused Gigi of “bullying” Melania because of her accent and her face.

Gigi eventually apologised for the impersonation, writing: “I apologise to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country”, however, she is yet to respond to this latest controversy.
