Expectant dad George Clooney is the happiest he has ever been

Earlier this month, George Clooney and his wife, Amal, revealed that they are expecting twins later this year.

Now it has been reported that the expectant parents couldn’t be more excited, with 55-year-old George the “happiest he has ever been”.

Restaurant Lapérouse owner Grégory Lentz has been a close friend of the Hollywood actor since 2011, and when he and Amal visited his restaurant over the weekend it was obvious that the pair were over the moon.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Lentz shared: “Amal is amazing. They’re completely, fully in love. She is just lovely, just lovely.

“He’s happier than I’ve ever seen him. She’s really amazing.”

George paid heartfelt tribute to Amal when he was given an honorary accolade at the Cesar Awards in France last week.

In his acceptance speech, the star melted hearts everywhere as he gushed: “To my wife Amal, there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not proud to be your husband. And I am excited about the years to come, and particularly the months to come. I love you very much.”

George is said to be “excited but nervous” about becoming a father, with a source revealing that “intelligent, loving, funny, smart, nurturing” Amal will make a “fantastic mother” who won’t let their children “get away with being Hollywood children”.

Meanwhile, George admitted that parenthood was “going to be an adventure”, adding: “We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”
