When we noticed that Sam Smith and Adam Lambert were hanging out an AWFUL lot in London, we’re not going to lie – we did get to thinking if this musical duo could become a ‘thing’.

Alas, Queen enthusiast and eyeliner aficionado Adam Lambert has thrown a bucket of cold water over any suggestions that him and Stevenage’s most exotic export could be anything more than just friends.

Looks like Sam’s still got another few heartbreak albums to get through, then.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Adam confirmed that they were nothing more than pals – but that he does 'love’ that rumour.

After admitting that they’d both done a lot of bonding together in the capital, Adam confessed that he thought that Sam was “Such a nice guy, he’s so funny”.

“We did ride a rickshaw in London from one club to another, wasted, at like 3 a.m. in the morning. So, there’s a lot of bonding.“

But, sadly for us Lambert-shippers, Adam admitted that “there’s no romantic rumour”.
