Winona Ryder became the star of this year’s SAG Awards thanks to her hilarious reaction to Stranger Things’ big win.

The American actress sparked a stream of internet memes after pulling some very revealing facial expressions during co-star David Harbour’s acceptance speech.

Ryder stood alongside Harbour as he thanked the Screen Actors Guild for the Best Ensemble Drama trophy and proceeded to give a rousing speech about recent political events.

“As we act in the continuing narrative of Stranger Things, we 1983 Midwesterners will repel bullies,” he said.

“We will shelter freaks and outcasts, those who have no home. We will get past the lies. We will hunt monsters.

“And when we are at a loss amidst the hypocrisy and the casual violence of certain individuals and institutions, we will, as per Chief Hopper, punch some people in the face when they seek to destroy the weak and the disenfranchised and the marginalized.”

He continued: “And we will do it all with soul, with heart, and with joy. We thank you for this responsibility.”

But while audiences were listening to the speech, they couldn’t help but focus on Ryder’s expressive reactions.

“Never seen anyone experience as many emotions within a minute as #WinonaRyder did during @DavidKHarbour's #SAGAwards speech. #StrangerThings,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Someone else posted: “Next time Trump gives a speech, make Winona Ryder stand next to him and translate for all of us through her facial expressions.”

“winona ryder's face during that speech was better than most of la la land,” wrote another viewer.

Other big wins on the night went to films including Moonlight, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge and La La Land, while shows including The Crown and Veep also won prizes.
