I'm A Celebrity: 'Fix' scandal as Shappi Khorsandi reveals producers cut Stanley Johnson's 'immigration rant'

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans have accused the show of being fixed in Stanley Johnson’s favour after eliminated campmate Shappi Khorsandi let slip that show bosses hadn’t aired the politician’s “immigration rant”.

Shappi, 44, was the first star to be eliminated from the jungle with Stanley, who is Boris Johnson’s dad, fast becoming a favourite among fans of the reality show.

However, all may not be as it seems and it appears that viewers have been left in the dark over some aspects of Stanley’s time on the show.

Speaking after leaving the jungle, Shappi revealed that there had been many political discussions between Stanley and Labour MSP Kezia Dugdale, which viewers haven’t seen anything of.

The comedian said: “Toff got me to declare I was going to join the Conservative party when I got out at some point. I think I put my hand up but we were just having a laugh. Toff and I had quite a laugh about how different we are politically.

“Stanley did start talking about high population and immigration at one point and Kez was talking to him about it but apart from Stanley, Kezia, Toff and myself, everybody steered well clear or any controversy in any shape or form.

“It almost seemed like no one wanted to nail their colours to the mast because they wanted to keep their political views private and if we talked about it, they put up an iron curtain.

“I get that, it is Im A Celebrity not Question Time.”

Shappi’s remark did not go unnoticed by shocked I’m A Celeb fans, with one writing on Twitter: “If #ImACelebrity bosses are cutting the only interesting content (Stanley Johnson sound off about immigration) then a) What’s the point of the show and b) They’re basically spinning for the Tory party. [sic]”

During her exit chat Shappi also revealed that she came close to quitting the Aussie jungle, sharing: “Two nights before I was voted I came close to walking.

“We all miss our kids and I was talking to Becky about when you miss your kids you have to ride the wave and be strong and get over.

“But two nights before I left I sank under the wave and I lay in my hammock and I sobbed like a baby and then I got out of my bed and cried and cried and cried and that was the point where I thought I won’t be upset if I am voted out first.”
