Taylor Swift fan theory claims the star is '100% a boy from Exeter'

It’s hard to believe it, but once upon a time Taylor Swift was just a normal girl who had no idea that one day she’ll be a mega-rich, mega-famous, mega-star.

In fact, TayTay was once so normal that she even had her own Myspace page, full of embarrassing and awkward teenage photos that she no doubt thought were seriously edgy and cool at the time.

(No shade – we’ve all been there.)

One of the pics shows Taylor looking completely unrecognisable with jet black hair, thick eyeliner and an emo get-up, which inspired a fan to create perhaps the most wild celebrity theory in history.

Y’see, ladies and gents, according to Twitter user @shy_Charles, this photo ‘proves’ that Taylor Swift is “100% a boy from Exeter”, with the fan’s hilarious theory tickling people on social media.

Captioned with: “Just some thoughts on Taylor Swift’s old MySpace pic but I think it may be a bit specific to queer teenagers who lived in Devon in 2005 tbh”, @shy_Charles shared the photo in question alongside a lengthy essay that explained their train of thought.

It begins: “In Taylor Swift’s old Myspace pic she is 100%a boy from a small town near Exeter who you’d flirt with on MSN messenger because you’d heard he was bi and he was one of the only three gay or bi teens you are aware of in the world.”

The theory goes on to detail the entire far-fetched scenario, no doubt giving everybody a trip down memory lane and pangs of nostalgia for the years of Myspace and drinking WKDs at a party.

It wraps up with a simple: “I wonder if that was the look she was going for”, and although there’s no way that we can say for certain, we have a sneaky feeling that perhaps this wasn’t the image Taylor had in mind when she posted the photo all those years ago.
