X Factor 2016: Fans fuming as Honey G's special treatment continues

It’s safe to say that, aside from Louis Tomlinson’s heartrending performance, last night’s X Factor final was completely lacklustre.

Gone are the days of the finalists duetting with the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna – this year bosses had to roll in last year’s winner, Louisa Johnson, and one of their very own judges, Nicole Scherzinger, for the remaining acts to sing with.

And it looks as though the duets weren’t the only part of the show to get a major budget cut, with viewers also being left completely stunned when one of their guest performers turned out to be eliminated contestant, Honey G.

The aspiring rapper courted controversy throughout her time on The X Factor, with fans accusing producers of giving the 35-year-old special treatment.

Each week, Honey G had her own segment dedicated to pets and mums who looked like the hopeful and they also showed drastically more of her family members in the audience than any other contestant.

Honey G was eliminated two weeks ago, with many viewers rejoicing, however, she is back with a vengeance and few people are happy about it.

Given an entire slot to perform at Wembley Arena amid the performances from the actual 2016 finalists, Honey G gave a medley of some of her previous covers before announcing that she was releasing her debut solo single in time for Christmas number one.

It later transpired that she has signed with Simon Cowell’s SyCo record label and he’d broken his own rules by allowing Honey G to release a single immediately after the show ends.

Traditionally, all of the X Factor final 12 are not allowed to release any music for a year after they appear on the show, with Simon not wanting the attention detracted away from the series winner.

However, he has opted to change this for Honey G – and fans are fuming:

Simon has not commented on his decision to sign Honey G, but it’s safe to say that we haven’t seen the last of her yet.
