Lana Del Rey confirms X-rated song is about 'Harvey Weinstein character' and she'll no longer perform it

Lana Del Rey has revealed that she will not be singing her x-rated song ‘Cola’ live anymore, confessing that it was inspired by a “Harvey Weinstein type of character”.

The song contains the shock lyrics “my p**** tastes like Pepsi cola, my eyes are wide like cherry pies, I got sweet taste for men who are older”.

Lana has now admitted the true meaning behind her song, teling MTV: “When I wrote that song, I suppose I had a Harvey Weinstein/Harry Winston-type of character in mind.”

Fans have long-speculated that the track is about the disgraced film producer, especially as they believed that the chorus featured the line: “Harvey’s in the sky with diamonds and he’s making me crazy, all he wants to do is party with his pretty baby”.

However, the line actually goes: “Ah, he’s in the sky with diamonds.”

Lana continued: “I envisioned, like, a benevolent, diamond-bestowing-upon-starlets visual, like a Citizen Kane or something. I’m not really sure. I thought it was funny at the time and I obviously find it really sad now.

“I support the women who have come forward. I think they’re really brave for doing that.”

When asked if she will stop performing ‘Cola’ live in wake of the Weinstein scandal, the singer said: “Definitely. That would be the only right thing to do.”

More than 50 high-profile supermodels and actresses have come forward to accuse the high-powered movie mogul of sexual assault and rape over the past few weeks, with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan and Cara Delevingne all sharing harrowing stories.

Weinstein, 65, has insisted that all sexual conduct has been consensual, with his spokeswoman Sallie Hofmeister saying earlier this month: “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr Weinstein.”
