Family accidentally leaves 3-year-old behind in corn maze, doesn't realize until next day

A little bit of fall fun turned into a nightmare for a Utah family after they realized they left their young son behind in a local corn maze.

Police officers were called to the Crazy Corn Maze in West Jordan, Utah, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday night after it was reported that a child had been left behind, according to KUCW.

When officials could not get in touch with the 3-year-old boy's parents, they brought the child to Division of Child and Family Services and allowed him to stay the night.

Thankfully, the boy's distraught mother called the police station the next day at 7:40 a.m. to report that her child was missing.

Although the child is back in his parents' care, police are still investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
